Summer Update
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Summer Class Timings
During the summer break, classes will run Monday to Thursday, 10:55am – 1:00pm. Please ensure children arrive on time so they can settle and benefit fully from the lessons.
Monthly Assemblies – Safar Assembly Coming Soon!
Our monthly Islamic assemblies have become hugely popular with the children and parents. We strongly encourage all parents to attend and join in the beautiful learning moments. The next assembly will be the Safar Assembly, which will take place during the summer break. Look out for more details – we’d love to see all parents there!
New Recitation Scheme – CLST
We are excited to introduce a new recitation scheme called Clearly, Loudly, Slowly with Tajweed (CLST).
This scheme helps children:
Recite clearly
Read loudly and confidently
Take their time by reading slowly
Apply Tajweed rules correctly
The children have already started CLST and are really enjoying the challenge! Many have said how excited they feel to improve their recitation.
Grouped Learning Structure
To make lessons more effective, we now teach children in ability-based groups. Each class has five groups:
Shahadah
Salah
Zakat
Sawm
Hajj
This structure allows teachers to pitch lessons at the right level for each group. When children come in, they check the displayed timetable to see which activity they will start with. Each group works on a different activity while the teacher rotates between groups. This keeps children engaged, focused, and learning at all times.
Thursday Clubs
From now on, clubs will run every Thursday from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. These sessions will include fun and educational activities to enrich the children’s learning experience.
Teacher Training Day – No Classes
Please note that Thursday 24th July will be a Teacher Training Day, so there will be no classes for children on that day.
Jummah at Masjid Al Fatiha
During the holidays, we expect all children and parents (including mothers) to attend Jummah prayer at Masjid Al Fatiha every Friday at 1:00pm.
Khutbah: 1:00pm (different topics each week)
Jamaat: 1:30pm
Let’s encourage our children to love attending the Masjid for Jummah!
Parent Inspire Workshops – Coming in September
In September, we will host three Parent Inspire Workshops, where you can see how we teach your children using the new grouped learning system.
More details and dates will be shared soon – please look out for them!
We Are Looking for Dedicated Volunteers at Masjid Al Fatiha
Masjid Al Fatiha is growing, Alhamdulillah, and with this growth comes the need for committed and caring volunteers to support the important work we do for our children, families, and the wider community.
Volunteering at the Masjid is a wonderful opportunity to:
Earn rewards by serving the House of Allah
Support the education and development of our children
Contribute to community events, assemblies, and Jummah programs
Help with organising and maintaining the smooth running of classes and activities
Whether you can spare a few hours a week or assist during special events, your time and effort will make a huge difference in strengthening our Masjid and creating a welcoming environment for all.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like to know more about how you can help, please come and speak to us directly at the Masjid. We would love to meet you and discuss how you can get involved.
Together, we can continue to build a strong, supportive, and vibrant community for our children and future generations.
Our SEND Classes Are Growing!
Alhamdulillah, our SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) classes at Masjid Al Fatiha are growing and providing tailored support for children who need extra help in their Islamic learning.
We are committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child, regardless of their learning needs, can thrive and connect with the Qur’an and Islamic knowledge at their own pace.
If you know any children with, SEND needs who would benefit from a supportive and understanding learning environment, please direct their parents or guardians to Masjid Al Fatiha. We would be happy to welcome them and discuss how we can meet their individual needs.
